Don’t say
You can’t
You can
I know
Not in
Your strength but
By His grace.

I have been reading excerpts from the book Dance Not for Time and it seems interesting. Maybe you can put a link to it in the post. Thank you!
This poem is easy to overlook, but I think it speaks straight to our hearts, if we’ll just stop to listen to it.
I’ve noticed for myself that it makes a tremendous difference whether someone “believes in me”–or doesn’t.
I see the same principle at work from the other perspective, that of the speaker: The people I have a positive opinion about react well to me and do well. The people I have a negative opinion about react negatively, and do poorly. The difference is maybe partly in them, but also partly in me.
“Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being.” -Johann von Goethe
“According to your faith it shall be.” Matthew 9:29
And then incorporate the truth that, for Christians, “In Him you have been made complete” Colossians 2:10, and it becomes not just a psychological tactic, but an aligning of ourselves with truth, in seeing a person as God does…
This statement is very simple but for me this can be very powerful if given as an encouragement to one who is lost, who is tired, who is weary or one who has lost faith. Nothing is impossible with God. He can do everything. “You can” can do change a weakness into a strength and an unbelief into a strong faith.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him (Jeremiah 17:7). I love this verse very much. It tells me that if I trust God I can do anything because His blessing is promised. I have no reason to fear nor doubt. I can do anything.
Amen! Lift it up to him, by all means. He will take care of everything!
BY GOD’S GRACE I WILL LOVE, I WILL HAVE JOY AND PEACE.
